AO Veterinary Advisory Committee (AOVAC)
The AO Veterinary Advisory Committee (AOVAC) was set up, at the request of the AO Research and Development Committee, to:

evaluate preclinical models applied at the AO Research Institute in Davos
-
expand this evaluation to all AO funded projects using preclinical models.
The AOVAC is chaired by Jörg Auer and its tasks and responsibilities are:

To review and approve Standard Operative Protocols for preclinical models used at the ARI and for AO funded studies
-
To act as an Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC):
-
Temporarily until the ARI has its own IACUC
-
For any AO funded study performed at a site that has no IACUC
-
To serve as a consulting/advisory committee for the head of preclinical surgery at the ARI and any researcher receiving AO funds
