New TK Innovations Magazine & Website Update

TK Innovations Magazine
A new issue of the TK Innovations Magazine ("TK News") has been published. This issue features 33 new implants and instruments for use in Trauma & Orthopaedics, Spine, CMF and Veterinary surgery with 32 cases, and seven other articles, e.g. principles on bridge plating or a case report on fibula transfer. The lead article deals with the Angular Stable Locking System for Intramedullary Nailing. Overall, 55 authors contributed. An electronic version can be downloaded from the AO homepage under "TK
System / TK System Innovations Magazine
" as well as the former 14 issues.
The TK System was one of the pioneers of specialization within the AO Foundation, reacting to the changing clinical problems by adapting its organization over decades. In 2003, an AOTK Spine was founded, and in 2005 the AOTK CMF followed. In the same year, the TK News was also separated into issues focusing on one specialty area only. In development specialization helps to tackle very specific clinical problems by experts in this field. But there is also a lot of value in cross-fertilization, evaluating technologies,
materials and clever ideas of the others. Therefore, the editors, Tim Pohlemann, Edward Ellis III and Robert McGuire decided to introduce new methods and devices again in a cross-specialty publication. This will also enable the production of two issues annually to inform more frequently.

" sorted by anatomical regions. The site has just been updated. Newly released devices are under "Latest products", all former ones under "All products".
